As it seems, Ian was more cunning than he seemed. He went there both to look for Ginta, and to challenge the man.
The boy wasn't stupid, he knew that Aran was protecting something and he knew about the legendary fight of six years before between him and Halloween. He well knew that, for his great abilities, Aran, compared to the Chess no Koma, would have been a Knight. He was only a Rook, and there wasn't any possibility for a Rook to defeat a Knight.. under normal conditions.
Aran hasn't neither eaten nor drunk, above all he hasn't slept for a three days, and by then he was at the limit of his strength. In that case a Knight had became a Rook, and according to his argument, fighting on the same level would have allowed Ian to have the possibility to kill him and climb quickly the scale that would have allowed him to rise of degree, as his purpose was to become soon a Knight.

Aran wasn't surely so inexperienced to make him beaten by the first-arrived Chess, and faced Ian using his Air Hammer , an ÄRM able to use the air spaces as powerful explosive blows.
The crafty Ian didn't make himself to be intimidated, and with his new Weapon ÄRM, Octopus (composed by several sharp and piercing tentacles, that branched out form the hands, that he had under the sleeves, and therefore still more unpredictable), gave a lot of trouble to the former Cross Guard, that found himself bleeding and battered, since he used his best blow in that bad state.

Aran didn't give up, his princess believed in Ginta, and so he wanted to do, he had to do!!
With regard to such matter, he reminded when years before he met the leader of the Cross Guard. A man identical to Ginta in way of doing things and in the enthusiasm, that sad that he had dreamt of MÄR Heaven and thanked him to have brought him there, because he would have saved it, defeating the Chess no Koma.
That man sad his name was Danna (it was in that way that the others used to call him at home, so it was good on MÄR Heaven too XD), and it was thanks to him if, until that day, MÄR Heaven had knew the salvation.
The former Cross Guard was exhausted, he wouldn't have stood another attack, but he would have never drawn back, he'd die rather that do it!
When everything seemed lost and Aran clenched his teeth, still believing in what he had prearranged, someone appeared and destroyed the tentacles of Ian: it was Ginta, that had finished the training period of 180 days, and was ready to keep the his word, fulfilling his mission!
