Shampoo is introducted as Ranma's enemy, and according to her beautiful but dangerous appearance, she's an amazon from a Chinese village, and the fact that Ranma defeated her means that she needs to kill him for revenge or to become his bride. Shampoo tries to follow the first choise, but, unluckily, she's defeated again. So, she decided to become Ranma's bride. Initially, her feelings for him are not so strong, day by day she falls in love with him and she decides to fight not for a rule of her village but for her own desire~

So, Shampoo's feelings for Ranma are the reason why she start to live in Japan, working at a Chinese Restaurant tun and menaged by her and her grand-mother. It's called "Neko Hanten", and Shampoo is very nice to cook, conquering in this way the chance to see Ranma more frequently, because he likes a lot Shapoo's food.

However, during the development of the story, she has a lot of chance with Ranma, but even if her feelings for him are strong and absolute, he likes her just like any others. Shampoo is not more than a friend for Ranma, and she understands that only in the last chapters of the manga, when she realizes that the lony one he truly loves is Akane.
But, Shampoo is not the kind of person that lose her head because of a lost love, and she contienues to do her best believening in a future chance with him.
Also, he has a strong bond with Mousse, her friend since the childhood, that decides to follow her in Japan to convince the girl to become his wife. Mousse hates Ranma and many times he fights for Shampoo, and at the end, she understands his feelings, but this doesn't mean that she can accpet them, because she continues to love Ranma, from the deep of her heart.

Speaking about her personality, she's string and determinated, but kind and sweet too. It depends on Shapoo's mood, because she's a sort of lunatic... and I adore this side of her~
She can't accept to lose to someone and this is the reason why she always uses any kind of methods to obtain what she desires, people too.
She pours out her love for Ranma triyng to get the behaviour of a wife and a thousand attentions for him, like a girl should do with her lover.
Who knows her can see that has kind sides too, but for any other, she's only possessive and obsessionated by Ranma, that many time is randomly owned by a random girl that likes him- Shampoo always tries to defeat her rivals and maybe she's one of the strongest characters from the series, but her victory is not Ranma's heart, unluckily.

I have to say that I admire her determination, but many times I wondered "ahy she continues to suffer about him, knowing that Ranma doesn't love her?" answering myself that the simple reply is that she stringly believes in her dream. And this is another side of her that I adore, but I desired about her happiness too! >_< I think that at the end of the series, even if she says that she knows that Ranma loves Akane but she'll continue to try to conquesr him, she know in the deep of her heart that's impossibile. Luckily she has Mousse and a lot of friends by her side, so I'm sure that whaterver she sould do, she'll be happy, because she lives her life with love and courage~
