   Umineko no naku koro ni borns as a novel game in which you can just see what happens and read the story. Due to its big popularity, it became an anime and there are four different series of manga dedicated to it!

   The story take place in Rokkenjima during the 4th of October. Rokkenjima is a very big island that is property of the rich Ushiromiya family. When the head of this, Ushiromiya Kinzo, is about to die, all his sons and daughters gather there to decide who will be the one to take his place and will inherit all the fortunes of the family.

   The family is composed by two sons and two sisters. They're all married but one, Rosa, that is the youngest one. The house they will reach is lived from the oldest of the brothers, Krauss, with his family. What Kinzo wants, is to see which of them can be the right successor, because he doesn't really think that there's one that could be right. The Ushiromiya family is this rich because Kinzo made a contract with a witch that he loved, Beatrice, who gave him the gold necessary to build his empire. In this pact, that he signed in an epigraph, he allows the witch to take back her gold and all the things that it helped to built, if it couldn't found by anyone of the family. In the contrary case, who would find it, will keep it. For Kinzo, this person would be the one who could become the new head of the family.

   So it starts Beatrice's game. At each twilight, as it's written in the epigraph, someone will die in a different way, chosen by her. If the gold won't found before of the tenth twilight, the game will be over and all will die. The game will continue with many deaths and will become more interesting when the witch will find out that she can have an opponent that will fight at her level: the rational Ushiromiya Battler, who she wants to admit her existance as witch.
