A month passed, and during this time, after the fierce battle against Noroshi, the city was repaired and restored to its former state. Furin High is ready to celebrate their victory and Ume speaks to everyone in a decorated school, thanking them for everything they’ve done to repair the town and keep it safe. He doesn't just thank his schoolmates, but also those who helped Furin, such as Roppo Ichiza, Gravel and Shishitoren.

He's grateful for what they've been able to do and bows his head to show his appreciation.

Ume adds that they can now start the "thank you party". He says that the townspeople have also brought lots of food to show their gratitude (including an embarrassed and angry Kotoha) and that they've barbecued the vegetables he's grown on the rooftop. At the end, they all get a drink and make a toast. Everyone has fun and eats to their heart’s content while enjoying their time together.

Everyone has fun and eats to their heart’s content while enjoying their time together  until they toast again.

It’s time to wrap the party up and while Ume thanks Haruka for everything he’s done, there’s a flashback to a few days after the fight against Noroshi. Ume told Sakura that he couldn’t get out of the bed and slept the whole day after. Since their injuries were really bad, Hiragi told them that they couldn’t help with repairing the town. Ume really wanted to do something and decided to clean the rooftop, so he asked Haruka to do the same. He also wanted to thank him properly for everything he had done about Endo and the fight itself, since he had never thought of asking other people who weren't in Furin for help. He added that he’d count on him from that moment on. Sakura asks himself if he’ll be ever able to be more like Ume, because he really wants to be more confident.

It’s time for a new arc, and this time it’s about Sugishita. Ume asks him to join him and the four kings for breakfast and while they’re eating, he asks how things are going with Haruka. After a bit of a shock, Sugishita replies that he doesn’t understand why he thought that Haruka was cool (everything is said at a very slow pace because it’s like everyone around him has to force him to talk). Ume is satisfied with his answer.

Here we have a flashback to Ume and Sugishita. Ume is growing his seedlings and explains that he likes to watch them grow. This is something Sugishita can’t understand, but he thinks that if Ume says so, it must be true, so he decides to help him. I suppose it was the first time Ume had done something like this on the rooftop, as it’s kind of empty.

Sugishita had a difficult past since his childhood. He was bullied and he couldn’t manage his personality, so all he did was hit whoever hurt him until the day when Ume told some thugs that he was his friend.

Since that day, Sugishita’s life changed because he felt a warmth he'd never felt before.

Ume invited him into his circle of friends, people who were extremely kind and friendly even to him, and who accepted him as he was. He always stayed with Ume and at a certain point, he realised that this feeling was there because that place had been built by Ume. With that determination, he thought he had to stay with him forever. When Sugishita entered junior high, Ume, Tsubaki, Momose and Mizuki gave him a gift to celebrate, and Ume’s was a matching shirt to the one he got as a gift (the one that said “grilled meat meal”), even though it wasn’t exactly what Sugishita likes.

Ume told them about his plans to bring peace to the town, and about the revolution he would start once he enrolled in Furin. While listening to his speech, Sugishita couldn’t help but reply that he would help as well, which made Ume very happy.

After the flashback, we see Sugishita helping Ume with his plants. The latter tries to talk about Haruka again and tells to the former that what he said was a wonderful thing. He adds that, even if he doesn’t know how he feels and why he thought that Sakura was cool, the most important thing is to deal with it in his own way. Ume says that this is how people grow and that if he wants to find it out, he should talk to someone who knows Haruka better than anyone else: Nirei.

Nirei really helps Sugishita a lot with his honesty, and the latter realises what he has to do to move on. So the first thing he does is to tell Umemiya that he wants to change in order to beat Haruka, because his goal is to protect both the school and the town better than anyone else. In fact, he's going to quit what he’s doing. Ume is happy to hear this and tells him that he’s looking forward to seeing what he's going to do. So he wishes him good luck.

When Sugishita leaves, Ume talks to the four kings who have overheard their conversation. They’re all touched because they've known Sugishita for a long time and it’s as if they’re watching him take his first steps. Ume says again that he has to thank Haruka if something like this could happen, but he’s really glad that Sugishita has managed to put his past behind him and move on.
