Mona is a cute and adorable girl. Everyone at school is charmed by her—
Eh? I meant...

Mona is a popular girl at school and everyone loves her (or, at least, what they see about her). Everyone but one boy: Kuroiwa Medaka. That's when she starts to show her real personality: she's not adorable at all, but determined. The truth is that a part of her is charming. I mean, she's ready to attack Medaka and do everything she can to win his heart, but when she makes something, she's shy and lacks self-confidence. She's skilled at everything she does: she can cook, do the housework, dance, play different sports. She's not good at performing a Japanese tea ceremony, though.
She's from a family of four which consists of Mona, her mother, her father, and her little brother. They once lived in Osaka, but then they moved to Tokyo. Mona tries to hide how she speaks because, in her opinion, the Kansai dialect is embarrassing. But in her mind, and when she's home with her family, she continues to talk like that. When she lived in Osaka she had a best friend who moved to Tokyo too: Tomo. They still love each other to the point that, when Mona realised that Tomo was in love with Medaka, she told her that if Medaka chose her best friend, she wouldn't mess things up. Even if Mona does his best to win Medaka over, she's a good girl. Sometimes she's crafty, especially if it's something related to Asahi.
Another thing she's interested in is being the most loved and popular girl at school. That's because she's always been popular since she was a kid and doesn't want to lose her "title".
What I despise about this series is that Mona does everything she can for Medaka, using what he likes, and not what she likes even when they go out. I'd like to know something more about her tastes... I hope that one day she'll let me know.
