At the beginning of the series, Eli is almost the antagonist because she wants to save the school in her own way, even if she doesn't know how to do that. In fact, she's against Honoka's decision to create a school idol group and everytime she faces them, she tries to be superior both as president of the student council and as person who knows better how to dance. She's never friendly with anyone but Nozomi, and it will be this last one the person that will explain to Umi the reason why Eli is this kind of person. When she was a child and lived in Russia (her grandmother is Russian, so she has a quarter of Russian blood), she was a classical dancer and loved to dance, but she never menaged to win a competition. In that moment, though she was very acclaimed, she decided to stop her career. But even if that was her decision, she always suffered about this, and it was the reason why she didn't agree with Honoka's way to help the school. Nevertheless, it will be the same Honoka that will help her to understand how much it was important for them to create something like this and that maybe it was their only way to save their school. After she asked to join them, seeing all this determination, Eli will decide to agree and she will become a member of μ's together with Nozomi. She will help all her friends to improve the way they dance and going on with the story, she will be almost as a big sister for everyone of them.
Well, Eli has a determinated and serious personality. When she has a goal, she does everything in order to realize it. At the same time, we can see a delicious part of her, because she's caring and tsundere at times. Anyway, we usually see her like a quiet girl that spends every single day of her life doing her best both with school and with her personal life. I think that she would be the right person whom I'll ask for advices~
