In the original story of the manga Shizuka is a minor character, but in the anime she's a major one, because the Noa's Arc and the Duestis City's Arc involved her.
In the anime Shizuka is a duelist too and fight with the Big Five of the Kaiba Corp., winnig! :D Her deck is comprised of female cards, the strongest is Saint Joanne, a fusion card. When she regenerates her eyesight, in the anime there is a beautiful and commovent scene, where she immerses on the see in order to save Jono-Uchi.<3 Also, in the anime Honda and Otogi show to have a crush on her, but Shizuka considers them simply friends and nothing more. Shizuka is many loved in couple with Kaiba Seto, because in the anime she convinces him to make care for Bakura, that was dieing. Kaiba is always intollerant with all, but that time he accepts the girl's request. This made crazy the fans, that publish them a couple (and me too). Addictionally, when Kaiba leave the city in order to fight against Noa in his island, even if Jono-Uchi refounds to follow him, she decides to goes with with (I'd like that this could be the reality in the manga too XD).
