PERSONALITY & APPEARANCE

Izumi is a cold and ironic biy that appears when Meroko calls him in order to get Mizuki's soul.
He's sadistic and crafty, apparently there's no reason why he could save Mizuki from her destiny.
When he made team together with Meroko his clothes were white and more like an angel, after their separation his clothes are yellow (as jealousy's colour).
He has a sad past that he always hide into his heart, because even if he died as human and now he's a shinigami, he can't forget about his mother and the sufferences causated by her in life.

STORY

izumi was a simply child, that after the abandon of the father, lived with her mother.
The woman can't tolerate the situation and she yell out her frustation with Lio, that one day decided to renunce to live and committed suicide in front of her mother's eyes.
When he opened again his eyes, he was in Heaven but he remembered all, so he thought that his punishment for the suicide could be the eternal prison of his pain, the oblige to take it with him forever.
Knowing Meroko he found a person that really, really loved him from the bottom of the heart, but he didn't realized that he was in love with her too, and at the right moment he betrayed her because of a jelousy for Takuto, constrictin her to make team with him and deciding for himself to do a new team with Jonathan.
Meroko became Takuto's partner and decided to constrict herself to love him in order to forget Izumi and the pain the he caused in her heart, but from the bottom of her heart, she'll always loved him, lieing to herself.
It's after their new meeting that Meroko and him become closer again, and he understands that his only, real desire, is be happy with her, and to see always her beautiful smile.
Also, knowing Mitsuki he learns the power of the sincere feelings and of friendship and finally he can embrace her showing all his chatarsys. Forvingin his mother and deciding to go on with a new, positive life, Izumi is obsturcted by Johnatan, that truly is one of the death angels of the Heaven.
Johnatan uses him manipuling his mind and Izumi becomes again Mitsuki's opponent, but thanks to her and to Meroko's feelings, he's safe and finally after the last battle, he can live happily with the beloved girl.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MANGA & ANIME

At the end of the manga Izumi is looking for Mitsuki's councert together with Meroko. It's remarked that they're a couple and they're a team together. In the anime he turns to the Heaven and she becomes and angel, so their relation hasn't the right and happiest conclusion.
