About Narcissa Black Malfoy

Narcissa Malfoy (nee Black) is the youngest of the three Black sisters - Bellatrix Lestrange, Andromeda Tonks, and herself - and also an immediate cousin of Harry's Godfather, Sirius Black. The name Narcissa is derived from Narcissus of Greek mythology, a beautiful young man who fell in love with his own reflection and died drowning in the pond after gazing at himself.

Narcissa is described as being blonde, tall, slim, and "nice-looking if she hadn't been wearing a look that suggested there was a nasty smell under her nose" (GoF). She is a doting mother, insisting her only son to be schooled nearby in Hogwarts as opposed to the far-away Durmstrang, and also from her regurlarly sending sweets and cakes to Draco every day. Upon realising that her son's life is in danger, she went as far as defying Lord Voldemort's trust to safe her son's life.
